P2P for Education, or whatever legit use

The report from Internet2 P2P work group clearly shows that there is a trend in the academia to make use of P2P for legit applications. For example, P2P for education, or P2P for copyright/digital rights management. As an example, LionShare is legitimate p2p file sharing tool developed by PSU.

Question: Can P2P go beyond file sharing? Or what about the next generation of P2P applications that are legitimate, well-contained, and secure? Following the trent of IM, can P2P go to enterprise?
